About Me

I am Malena — born and raised in Mexico, shaped by writting code, classrooms, students, and the joy of teaching. My career began as an It specialist then a high school teacher and university professor, where I learned the power of connection, curiosity, and community.

My journey took an unexpected turn when I came to Canada to study English. What was meant to be temporary became permanent when I met my husband and discovered a new chapter waiting for me. We spent 12 years in Halifax, Nova Scotia, building a life from scratch, learning a new culture, and creating friendships that felt like family.

Eventually, life led us to the Greater Toronto Area. Moving provinces meant starting over again — new routines, new networks, new challenges. It wasn’t easy to leave behind the people and places that shaped us, but it taught me resilience and adaptability.

Despite the odds, we achieved something we once thought impossible: owning a home in the GTA. That milestone represents more than a house — it symbolizes perseverance, reinvention, and the courage to keep moving forward.
